Online Markdown Editor with Live Preview

Write GitHub-flavored Markdown with a toolbar and live preview, then copy the HTML or download .md and .html files.

Runs locally in your browser — your input is not uploaded.

80 words · about 1 min read

Your draft is saved in this browser only. Links and scripts in the preview are sanitized for safety.

What is this tool?

Write README files, notes, docs, and blog posts in Markdown and see the formatted result side by side. The toolbar inserts headings, links, tables, and code blocks for you, your draft is saved in the browser automatically, and you can export clean HTML or a standalone web page.

The editor supports GitHub-flavored Markdown: headings, emphasis, links, images, code blocks, blockquotes, tables, task lists, and strikethrough.

The preview is sanitized with DOMPurify, so scripts and unsafe HTML inside a document can't run. Drafts are stored only in this browser's local storage and are never uploaded.

How to use the Markdown Editor

  1. Type Markdown in the editor, or use the toolbar to insert formatting.
  2. See the rendered preview update as you type. Switch between Split, Write, and Preview layouts.
  3. Your draft is saved in this browser automatically, so you can come back later.
  4. Copy the HTML, or download the document as .md or as a styled .html page.

Frequently asked questions

Is my document saved?

Yes, in your browser's local storage on this device. It isn't uploaded or synced; download the .md file to keep a copy elsewhere.

Does it support tables and checklists?

Yes. Use the table button for a starter table and - [ ] for task list items, just like on GitHub.

Can I convert Markdown to HTML?

Yes. Copy HTML puts the rendered markup on your clipboard, and Download .html saves a complete page with simple styling.

Is raw HTML allowed in the Markdown?

Basic HTML such as <details> or <kbd> works. Scripts, event handlers, and other unsafe code are removed from the preview.
