ToolForge uses local storage and may use cookies. This page explains what is essential to run the site versus what is used for analytics and advertising.

Essential preferences

These help the site work and remember basic choices. They do not require advertising consent:

• Theme preference (light / dark / system), stored locally as site preference data
• Your language choice, stored in a first-party cookie so links open in your language
• Your cookie consent choice, stored locally so we can remember your decision

Advertising cookies

When ads are enabled, Google AdSense and its partners may set cookies or use similar identifiers to:

• Serve ads on ToolForge
• Limit how often you see the same ad
• Measure ad performance
• Personalize ads where you have consented (or where personalization is otherwise allowed)

Your consent

On your first visit, ToolForge shows a cookie banner where you can Accept or Decline analytics and advertising cookies. We use Google Consent Mode v2 to apply your choice:

• In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, analytics and advertising cookies stay off until you click Accept.
• Elsewhere, they are on by default and you can turn them off by clicking Decline.
• While cookies are declined, Google may receive cookieless, anonymous signals (such as that a page was loaded) that cannot identify you across visits.

You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the site footer.

Analytics cookies (Google Analytics)

ToolForge uses Google Analytics 4 to measure how the site is used (pages visited, tool usage, device type, approximate location, and performance). Google Analytics sets these cookies:

• _ga — distinguishes unique visitors (expires after 2 years)
• _ga_* — keeps session state for this site's analytics property (expires after 2 years)

The contents of your tool input are never sent to Google Analytics. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, by choosing Decline in Cookie settings, or by blocking cookies for this site.

Managing cookies

You can clear site data from your browser settings at any time. Disabling cookies may reset preferences like theme and language and may affect how ads are shown.
